el salvador vacay :)

i will be residing in paradise for the next week.

with no attempts at blogging.

the craft ideas available on the internet are endless. i love these converted bottles into vases. so so pretty. i love that the shades of paint are similar in color and with the pink flowers...gorgeous. i think this should top my craft to do list :)

el salvador vacation

this friday i leave for el salvador :)

my family takes a little vacay at san remo (cute little lake house) on the lago de coatepeque.

i'm excited to play tons of card games, swim in the volcanic lake, read my newbery winners, doze in a hammock, experiment with my rebel of a camera and get away from facebook, the internet, etc.

did i mention niece and nephew are coming? yeah. paradise.

p.s. my brothers and i are thinking about swimming to the island. it's about a 5k. could be horrific and could be way entertaining. lago de coatepeque 5k :)

i tried to make a playlist of fun songs to sing/cruise around to in the car. a summer playlist of sorts and this has been a fave:

i love what he says around 2 minutes. oh and if someone took my bed...i wouldn't be happy. just saying.

there is a land of slackers...

and yes, i am their queen.

but who can blame me with this boy to play with?

some days he even says that he'd pick me to marry of all the aunties....some days. oh and while i'm giving excuses it's also summer, and i got a random up-chuck bug that my family passed around, and my special retreat has slow internet, and yes i'm still the queen of slackers.

isn't summer awesome though? :)

newbery medal winners book group

so i created a book group on facebook. a group to read the newbery medal winners from 2001 to 2010. it's just casual, read what books you can. and a good excuse to throw a party at the end of the summer.

i just finished my first book:

overall i enjoyed it. the author loved the book 'wrinkle in time' when she was younger (as did/do i) and incorporated it into this book. the main character, miranda, discusses time travel throughout and at one point receives a signed copy of a 'wrinkle in time'...way cool. miranda's relationships with her mom, friends and those she encounters in new york city.

pretty easy and entertaining read.
