while in chicago we brought a super yummy lunch to the beach and the kiddies played like crazy.  my cute niece of course ran off again and again.  she came back one time and had taken off her shoes and socks, it was really cold but she didn't care.  big boy nephew would hide in the tall grasses while his dad would count and then wait to be discovered.  most of the time though he'd get impatient and jump up to try and scare his dad.

last weekend we went to settebellos for pizza and dropped by capo gellateria for dessert.  our relationship with great food is incredibly satisfying.  just saying.

we capped off the month with pizza from dominos monday night.  and just giving you a heads up, dominos pizza crust is now really really amazing.  when did that happen?

nycole and i went to a little halloween soiree.  there was a pumpking carving contest between two teams.  we have strongly influenced what was carved...hello kitty and harry potter :)

i also may have dressed up a little crazy for one of the games.

illicit theater candy.

nycole, danya and i went to the play, 'dracula vs jekyll & hyde' saturday night.  which was brilliant.  


so there is a little theater just north of broadway off main street in downtown salt lake, the off broadway theater.  i've lived in salt lake/utah for years and never heard of it before a few weeks ago.  quite a shame.


it's a family friendly, non-profit and hilarious way to spend your evening.  i mean look how much fun nycole is having...  

anyway.  the play was seriously great.  it's not often that you get tired from smiling/laughing :)

the reward.

31 days.  i did it :)

honestly, it wasn't too difficult.  i recognize now that i definitely self medicate with sugar.  we all knew that but i didn't know to what extent!  with sugar not as an option, i either recognized the craving and had something a little healthier - fruit, sugar free pudding cup or just drank some water and a mental pat on the back.

so.  what now?!

well danya had the awesome idea to stay sugar free except for holidays.  loved it.  nycole said she'd find new friends :)  now i'm thinking no sugar save saturdays/holidays?

right now i'm just going to see how everything goes.  maybe i have this whole gorging, reward, craving thing under control...but seriously, who are we kidding.  i'm the sugar empress.

anyway.  i'll keep you posted.

found a silk lepard print dress at a goodwill in washington.  didn't find my blue tights but am substituting red.  dressed for tomorrow.  i have a thing for red lately.  just ask my co-workers :)

my coat of course is mor masculine and i think double buttoned but a little trim on the back/front flaps, maybe the pockets?  since my coat is more camel how about a brighter blue trim?  or i could do a classic black?

i am 24 days down in my month with no sugar.  over all it has been relatively easy.  although seeing all the halloween candy out has made my mouth water for my most constant love...reeses.

every monday, design*sponge posts sneak peaks into homes.  last monday they included a round up pics utilizing suitcases.

i may have an old suitcase almost exactly like the last one depicted that i inherited from my great grandma.  it even includes her initials, klc.  my collection may have increased over the past few months with thrift stores finds.  now i store, electronics, fabric, etc. inside them.  love the cute storage option :)
